Currently Inked - January 2022

No January update would be complete without getting the year wrong. I start this one with the Namisu Studio in black ebonite. My favourite "Bock holder", fitted this time with a 23k palladium nib, bought as a separate nib unit from Beaufort pens, and filled with an old bottle of Montblanc Blue-Black.

Last's years "grail purchase", the Namiki Yukari Royale (or Urushi 20), fitted with an 18k medium nib and filled with Robert Oster Bronze. Still getting used to it, to be honest, and having more issues with the nib than I was expecting. But let's see.

A Pelikan Signum 570 in black is third up, fitted with an extra-fine 14k nib and filled with KWZ Grapefruit. A most un-Pelikan pen, but a firm favourite, with a wet, bouncy nib that has just the right amount of tooth.

Next is my Parker 45 in navy blue with steel cap and gold trim, currently fitted with a 14k fine italic nib and filled with Blackstone Sydney Harbour Blue. An under-rated design icon - with incredible versatility given the range of nib options and the ease of swapping.

A Pilot pen to finish. Unknown name - perhaps a Custom variant - fitted with a fine 14k nib that has a bit of spring while perhaps being a touch on the dry side. Filled with Diamine Ultra Green.
